Masters Lacrosse Provincials Tournament

The Alberta Masters Lacrosse Provincial Tournament is scehduled for the weekend of July 24th - 26th in Nanton Alberta.
This is a fun family event and the Nanton campground that is very close by the arena has been booked. It is also next to the Golf Course and Pool so if you bring your wives and kids they can be entertained. Don’t tell them Nanton is the antique capital of Alberta or your garage may get more junk! There is also a Community centre across the parking lot from the arena and they may have a social there or a BBQ at the campground on Saturday night, tba.
If camping isn’t your idea of fun, there is a Ramada and Super 8 in High River, a short 15 min. drive north.
Team Teal with a 13-0 record will be one of the CMLL representatives. Team Purple will also be there as they sit in 2nd place with a 9-4 record. We are also trying to fill out both of these rosters as many guys can't make the tournament. If you are interested in playing please contact Jason Johnson at 403-863-9502 or email jason@sportzone.ca

CALGARY CUP 2009 TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE
The 2009 Calgary Cup tournament is a six-team tournament. Each team will play three round robin games, including a crossover game, and then be seeded for the finals - A Final, B Final, C Final. Games are one hour with a 10 minute warm-up, time permitting.
All games at Acadia Recreation Centre.
This year on Saturday, we will hold a barbecue at Acadia Recreation Centre as our social for the tournament. As an added bonus there will be a Junior B game played during the BBQ between the Calgary Mountaineers and the Calgary Shamrocks.
The Junior B teams will be operating the beer garden and running a 50/50 draw so please be sure to support both!
The Calgary Masters Lacrosse League invites you to attend the 4th annual Calgary Cup Masters Lacrosse Tournament June 5th, 6th & 7th, 2009 in Calgary, Alberta.
This year’s tournament is guaranteed to provide the players and their families with an eventful weekend complete with fun lacrosse, camaraderie, and sportsmanship. We are expecting teams from around the province of Alberta, Ontario and British Columbia to attend the tournament, won by the Calgary Mountaineers in 2008...
We would encourage any teams that have not played in Calgary under the CMLL rules to read the tournament rules. All games will be played at the Acadia Recreation Center at 240 90th Ave. SE. Calgary.
The organizing committee is currently accepting registration forms from interested teams. A registration form can be found on the Calgary Masters Lacrosse League website. Registration fees this year will be $850.00.
A $200, non-refundable desposit is due on May 15th 2009. The balance is due, along with a roster, on June 1st.
Women's Masters is now accepting registrations. For more info check out the Women's Master page HERE
Season will be Wednesday nights, May 6th to August 26th from 7pm to 10pm PLUS: We have added four weeks of Skills n' Drills nights on Tuesdays, running from May 12th to June 2nd from 8pm to 9pm at Legacy as well.
Cost is going to be kept at $225 for the season, plus, please have a $50 cheque post-dated for September 1st to recieve your jersey at Draft Night.
Draft Night/Meet n' Greet will be Saturday, May 9th at 8pm at the Wildrose Brewery (please let me know on your registration form if you will be attending or by sending me an email or facebook)
Tentatively, we will be ordering dry-fit shirts and t-shirts this season.
Registrations and payment (please make cheques payable to "Calgary Women's Masters Lacrosse League") are due on Wednesday, April 22nd and can be mailed in to:
Calgary Women's Masters Lacrosse League
C/O Meghan Black
959 Edgemont Road NW
Calgary, AB
T3A 2J4
ALSO: We have decided to become affliated with ALA (Alberta Lacrosse
Association) this year to help cover our insurance costs (these fees are included in your registration fees). This means, however, that we must use ALA certified referees. On the brightside, they have done some restructuring from last year and we can still use our own referees, so long as they take the Level 1 course. Presently, we are looking for people to volunteer as referees for the season (the CWMLL will pay for you to take the course). Please let me know if you know someone who might be interested in refereeing, or as always, let our Head Referee, Cam, know (dc.Black@shaw.ca).
As well, we are always looking for coaches, time and score keepers!
Good luck to those of your going to Ladycrosse! Be sure to wear your hoodie and t-shirt!
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns!
Thanks so much and I hope to see everyone out this summer!
The CMLL AGM is going to be held on Monday, December 8th at 7:00 PM. The meeting will be at Wild Rose Pub in the Currie Barracks. Everybody is invited and encouraged to attend.
